Slayer
Slayer is one of the most influential and notorious thrash metal bands of all time. Formed in 1981 in California, the band quickly gained notoriety for their blistering speed, relentless aggression, and dark lyrical themes. Albums like Reign in Blood, South of Heaven, and Seasons in the Abyss have become cornerstones of metal history. Slayer’s signature sound — tight, fast, and raw — laid the foundation for countless extreme metal bands. With Tom Araya, Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman (†), and Dave Lombardo at the core, they left a trail of legendary performances around the world. Though they retired from touring in 2019, Slayer’s legacy continues to ignite the metal scene across generations.
