With Gloom, Macabre delivered one of the most unconventional debut albums in extreme metal history. Originally released in 1989, the American trio from Chicago combined high-speed grindcore, death metal and thrash with dark humour and macabre stories about notorious killers. The result is a chaotic and uncompromising album that established the foundations of the band's distinctive style, often described as murder metal.
Throughout Gloom, furious riffs, relentless drumming and Corporate Death's unmistakable vocals collide in a whirlwind of extreme music. Short, explosive tracks and unexpected musical twists give the album its unique character. This release helped establish Macabre as one of the most original acts in the extreme metal underground.
This 2026 re-issue through Mystic Production comes on Clear with Splatter vinyl, housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve. A striking new edition of a cult classic for fans of old school death metal, grindcore and collectible vinyl.
