Brave Murder Day is one of the defining albums from Katatonia's early years. Originally released in 1996, the Swedish band's second studio album combines crushing death doom with melancholic melodies and a hypnotic, deeply atmospheric sound. Its lengthy compositions and repetitive guitar passages create the dark intensity that has made the album so distinctive.
A major part of the album's character comes from the harsh vocals of Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt, while Jonas Renkse provides clean vocals on “Day”. Featuring tracks such as “Brave”, “Murder”, “Rainroom” and “Endtime”, Brave Murder Day became a death doom classic and remains an essential release in Katatonia's discography.
This 2026 re-issue comes on crystal clear vinyl, making it an excellent edition for Katatonia collectors and fans of melancholic and atmospheric metal.
